This Privacy Policy explains how SHDW LLC ("SHDW," "Shadow," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use this website, the SHDW App, and our services.

Information We Collect

Through this website, when you submit a contact or application form, we collect the information you provide, including your name, email address, phone number, and inquiry details. We may also collect basic usage data such as browser type and pages visited to maintain and improve the site. We do not use cookies beyond those strictly necessary for essential website functionality.

Through the SHDW App, when you create an account or use the marketplace, we collect and process:

• Account and profile information you provide, including your name and contact details and, for Providers, professional credentials, licenses, certifications, and insurance information.
• Identity verification data — a government-issued ID and a selfie image — submitted by you to verify your identity.
• Background-check information for Providers, including the results of consumer reports.
• Payment information necessary to process payments and Provider payouts.
• Precise location data — when a Provider shares live location during an active engagement so the Client can coordinate the detail.
• Booking and engagement details, communications sent through the platform, and device and usage data.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: respond to your inquiries and assess service fit; create and manage your account; verify your identity and eligibility; conduct background screening for Providers; facilitate bookings and connect Clients with Providers; process payments and Provider payouts; maintain trust and safety on the platform; operate, secure, and improve this website and the SHDW App; and comply with our legal obligations. We never sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Identity Verification & Background Screening

To support trust and safety on the SHDW App, identity verification (government ID + selfie) is performed by Stripe Identity, initiated by you with your consent. Background checks for Providers are performed by Checkr, Inc. and, where applicable, are "consumer reports" under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Provider screening is governed by separate disclosure and authorization documents you review and sign before any screening occurs, and Providers have rights under the FCRA with respect to those reports. Organizations may also be subject to business verification (KYB).

How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to operate the platform and our services:

• With service providers that process data on our behalf, including Stripe (identity verification, payment processing, and Stripe Connect payouts), Checkr (background screening), Netlify (website hosting and form submissions), and Google Fonts (web fonts).
• Between Clients and Providers, to the extent necessary to arrange and deliver a booked service — for example, sharing the details each party needs to coordinate an engagement.
• Where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or SHDW.

We do not engage advertising networks, behavioral-analytics trackers, or third-party data brokers, and we do not sell your personal information.

Data Security

All data transmitted through this website and the SHDW App is protected by SSL encryption. Access to collected information is strictly limited to authorized personnel. Data is retained only as long as operationally or legally necessary, then securely disposed of. Our security-grade handling standards apply to your personal data with the same rigor we apply to client protection.

Your Rights

You have the right to request deletion, correction, or export of any personal data we hold about you, and you may delete your SHDW App account at any time from within the app. To exercise these rights, contact us directly at hello@shdw.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe. Providers also have rights under the FCRA regarding background-check information.

Children's Privacy

Shadow's services, this website, and the SHDW App are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

Shadow may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect operational or legal changes. Continued use of this website or the SHDW App following any posted updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last Updated" date above.
