Michael de Geus served as a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service, on multiple protection details including being assigned to the Presidential Protection Division protecting the President of the United States and other senior government officials. Following his federal service, he obtained multiple domestic & international patents in personal protection products as well as founded SHDW, LLC. (operating as "SHADOW") to bring the same standard of protection to the private sector.
His operational experience spans presidential protection, dignitary details, advance operations, and threat assessment across domestic and international environments. In the private sector, that experience has extended across the full range of high-consequence security environments: major multi-city music tours and large-scale stadium festivals, red carpet film and television premieres, Fortune 500 corporate conferences and board-level executive details, celebrity and athlete protection, and high-profile private events across four continents.
The Playbooks are his effort to democratize the knowledge that existed only inside the walls of the most elite protective operations in the world, and to give executives, security directors, and event professionals the same framework that governs how Shadow builds every program it runs.
